Alex Walton partnered with Ken Kao to form Bloom and launched the company in May 2014, at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. As President, Alex oversees International Sales and Distribution for Bloom’s current slate, including Shane Black’s The Nice Guys, starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, George Clooney’s Suburbicon, starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore, and Scott Cooper’s Hostiles, starring Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi.
Prior to Bloom, Alex was President of International Sales and Distrubtion at Exclusive Media, where he oversaw International Sales and Distribution on films including Ron Howard’s Rush, David Ayer’s End of Watch, George Clooney’s The Ides Of March, James Watkin’s The Woman in Black and Matt Reeve’s Let Me In.
Previously, Alex served as Senior Vice President of International Sales at Paramount Vantage. During his three years there, he worked on International Sales and Distribution of films including Shutter Island, Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story, No Country For Old Men, Into The Wild, Son Of Rambow, The Kite Runner, Last Chance Harvey, Traitor and The Crazies.
Prior to Paramount, Alex was at HanWay Films in the UK, where he was Director of International sales, handling such films as Match Point, Goya’s Ghosts, Becoming Jane, Fast Food Nation, and The Squid And The Whale.
Before beginning his career in film, Alex attended Newcastle University in England, where he graduated with B.A. Hons in Combined Arts, majoring in History.
